Ca: Barcelona, plena de vida i vibracions. Aquí viuen Jordi, Laia i Marta. Sempre hi ha alguna cosa interessant passant. Avui, però, no serà un dia qualsevol.
En: Barcelona, full of life and vibrations. Here live Jordi, Laia, and Marta. There is always something interesting happening. Today, however, will not be any ordinary day.

Ca: Jordi, que treballa en una agència de turisme, ha sigut desafiat. Un grup de turistes s'ha topat amb l'enigmàtic món de la Patum de Berga, una festa popular catalana que es celebra durant Corpus. Aquests forasters estan confosos. No entenen de què es tracta tot aquest rebombori.
En: Jordi, who works in a tourism agency, has been challenged. A group of tourists has stumbled upon the enigmatic world of the Patum de Berga, a popular Catalan festival celebrated during Corpus. These outsiders are confused. They do not understand what all this commotion is about.

Ca: "I que és tot aquesta festa?" pregunta una senyora de Texas amb un mapa de Barcelona a la mà.

Ca: Jordi, amb un somriure, mira a Laia i Marta. Totes tres són berguedanes de naixement i coneixen la Patum com la palma de la seva mà.
En: Jordi, with a smile, looks at Laia and Marta. All three are born in Berga and know the Patum like the back of their hand.

Ca: "Ho explicarem tan bé com puguem," diu Jordi. I Llavors comença el repte.
En: "We will explain it as best as we can," says Jordi. And so the challenge begins.

Ca: Descriuen la Patum com un espectacle ple de follets i gegants, de foc i de soroll, de música i de dansa. Expliquen l'origen medieval de la festa, la seva evolució i com es va convertir en Patrimoni Inmaterial de la Humanitat, de la UNESCO.

Ca: Els ulls dels turistes comencen a brillar amb interès. Marta, amb la seva passió per la festa, explica les diferents etapes: El Salt de Plens, La Maces, Els Nans Vells, Els Gegants... I el foc, sempre el foc, representant la purificació i la renovació.
En: The eyes of the tourists begin to shine with interest. Marta, with her passion for the festival, explains the different stages: El Salt de Plens, La Maces, Els Nans Vells, Els Gegants... And the fire, always the fire, representing purification and renewal.

Ca: Segons avança la conversa, el grup de turistes es transforma. De l'estupor passen a la curiositat, i finalment, a l'admiració. No comprendran del tot la festa, però ara la respecten i s'interessen per ella.
En: As the conversation progresses, the group of tourists transforms. From astonishment, they move to curiosity, and finally to admiration. They may not fully understand the festival, but now they respect it and take interest in it.

Ca: Jordi, Laia i Marta acaben el dia satisfets. Han aconseguit explicar l'essència de la Patum a aquests forasters. Han compartit una mica de la seva cultura i han demostrat que la Patum no és només una festa, sinó una forma de vida, una celebració dels berguedans.
En: Jordi, Laia, and Marta end the day satisfied. They have managed to explain the essence of the Patum to these outsiders. They have shared a bit of their culture and demonstrated that the Patum is not just a festival, but a way of life, a celebration of the people from Berga.

Ca: "Sabem que és difícil d'entendre," diu Jordi al final. "Però és el nostre orgull i la nostra tradició."
En: "We know it's difficult to understand," Jordi says in conclusion. "But it is our pride and our tradition."

Ca: Els turistes aplaudeixen. Han après alguna cosa nova, alguna cosa que no s'aprèn en els llibres de turisme.

Ca: Així acaba un dia vibratiu a Barcelona, on tres amics han aconseguit explicar una part essencial de la seva cultura. Un dia en què la Patum ha brillat més enllà de les muntanyes de Berga, captivant l'atenció de tots aquells que ha trobat pel camí.
