They’ve been called “wizards behind the curtain.” Chrissi Culver and Nick Daniels are Air Traffic Controllers whose sole job is to keep us safe in flight. Chrissi became a licensed private pilot at 17, is President of Women in Aviation, Intl - North Texas Chapter, and an FAA Air Traffic Control Specialist at the Fort Worth Center. Nick is a former Marine Air Traffic Control Specialist, President of Fort Worth Center National Air Traffic Controllers Association (NATCA), and NATCA Southwest Alternate Regional Vice President.
So, what does it take to be an Air Traffic Controller? These two guests have a love of aviation that radiates the minute they start talking about what goes on behind the scenes. They will share how controllers interact with pilots the moment the airplane takes off until it safely lands, what happens in times of crises, and the qualifications and training necessary to become an air traffic controller.
