Commander Michael Burnham communicates telepathically with Sarek, the Vulcan who raised her, and now enlightens her on how to deal with the Klingons- by shooting first and making peace later.

Convinced this is a matter of life or death, Burnham wrests control of the ship from Captain Philippa Georgiou by giving her the ol’ Vulcan nerve pinch. The captain is a hard woman to keep down so she comes back and throws Burnham into the brig for mutiny.
