Author Michael P. Waterman continues study of “A Leader’s Call”, examining the consequences of sin from Chapter 16: The Sword Shall not Depart. In this episode, the destruction as a result of compromise and corruption will be made abundantly clear. The life of King David would never be the same. As a result of his adultery with Bathsheeba, murder of Uriah the Hittite, and for over a year living in darkness, the sword would not depart the family of the king. We will view the raping of a half-sister, the murder of a half-brother, and the complete rebellion and death of a son. The listener will be made to ponder, is the pleasure of sin worth the devastation and destruction of its consequences.
