Beginning in 1997 and stretching across eleven states from New York to Minnesota, 100 corpses that had been dredged from rivers, lakes and ponds shared too many similarities for it all to be coincidental.  Almost without exception, victims were white, college-aged males who were athletic, good-looking, and academically successful.

The team of four detectives, Kevin Gannon, Anthony Duarte, Mike Donovan and Dr. Lee Gilbertson came together to investigate these cases that had been closed by the local police departments.  The detectives found startling similarities and many unanswered questions.  After conducting their own investigations the detectives requested that the local Police Departments re-open these cases, previously classified as drownings, and investigate them as homicides.
