The frenzy of conspiracies and speculation regarding the Princess of Wales might have been avoided with a more forthcoming (and credible) statement when she was admitted to hospital. A moral debate over whether the Princess is deserving of any more or less privacy than anyone else is moot; social media storms like this happen when the public is told something that is worrying and then patted on the head and told to look away. Public relations is a job for a reason.
