Hey everyone, we're so very excited to finally get out to you, the first in a series of 9 episodes where those pesky senators, Les Manley and Mona Lotte, travel with our oh so reputable media representatives, Chase Storyman and Lilac Hellowitz, to the planet Quirdmut for our planet's first diplomatic mission.
In this episode, we are introduced to the story by narrator, Benjamin Wickerdents, an amusingly delightful character that you will see again soon in his own show. We meet our media who are doing their usual talking heads reporting of whatever they can think of while the space ship is getting ready to take off.
The original story, Friends in High Places, was written as a stage play and has been highly popular. In Friends in High Places, aliens land on The Mall in Washington DC and meet our ... not so honest President who has bankrupted the country and is looking for a way out before the country finds out the truth. As it would happen, the aliens have some "waste" products from their society that they need to get rid of, that here on Earth, are very profitable commodities such as the Platinum the spaceship leaves all of Washington DC dusted with from its operations to the "goo" byproduct we here on Earth know as ... oil.
To make matters even more interesting, our new alien friends have some customs that to us are a bit ... well ... embarrassing, but totally normal to them and in the end, good wins out with a new and honest President and a great relationship with our first alien species. It's a fun ride.
After the play ends, The Quirdmut Report picks up where our media and senators now get to travel to the Planet Quirdmut (home of the aliens)
The Quirdmut Report is a "Theatre in the Dark" presentation by TLC Scripts (J&G Unlimited). It is a "spin-off" from the highly popular play, "Friends In High Places."
