A sequel is one thing, a reboot is another. A gender-swapped homage is something all its own. In the 2017 film “Lady Bloodfight,” we follow Jane as she enters the mysterious underground tournament known as the “Kumite.” Sound familiar? But Lady Bloodfight is not a remake of Bloodsport. This film takes the ideas presented in the original and expands upon them in a whole new way to craft a brand new story and experience. Does it work?
