In this podcast I trace the connection between two recent developments, South Africa's withdrawal from the International Criminal Court (ICC) and the Hate Speech Bill that the ANC wishes to impose on the country. I also discuss the parallels between the Fees Must Fall movement and how the ANC's governance practices, in particular their mutual commitment to destructiveness and a perpetual "state of exception."
