Matt is determined to discuss more bleak, brutal horror movies this year and this is a hell of a way to start. The plot follows Jack (Matt Dillon), a serial killer who, over a 12-year period in the late 1970s & 1980s, commits numerous murders in the Pacific Northwest. Utilizing Dante's Inferno as a metatext, the film is structured as a series of flashback vignettes relayed by Jack to the Roman poet Virgil.
