Phoebe covers the automotive industry for the Free Press with a focus on Ford Motor Co., organized labor, and consumer trends. She provides industry analysis -- including the BBC, NPR, ABC News, NBC News, PBS NewsHour, and Fox Business. Phoebe provided an update on the UAW strike, its impact on the state of Michigan and Michigan's economy, the families that are walking to the strike line, and the sacrifices they are making for their stand with the UAW. We looked at the strike by the numbers, and also from the human perspective as well. As of October 12, 2023, there were more than 30,000 UAW members on strike in 22 states against various employers, including the Detroit Three automakers.
