It saddens me that there are those on the Reiki bandwagon without the best intentions.

I've trained in Reiki and over many years reached Practitioner level, not master as that's the next one up. As a practitioner it would be perfectly ok for me to charge for healing but I don't. Why? Because that energy is universal/God energy that comes to me free. It feels utterly wrong to charge for it. I don't even ask for donations for it. Instead I make jewellery with sterling silver wire and Crystal's and art work. If they want to give an "energy exchange" (a term I hear increasingly bandied about) for the healing then they can see if they want to purchase any of those things. If not then I wish them on their way with a smile and a hug.

Yep... It closed up because Catholics are programmed to stay away from Reikki and other occult practices as they are not equipped to handle it and it can be a danger.

Yep, we had a local Catholic Retreat Center with Reikki services, but they closed up.

The problem is trying to regulate something spiritual in nature.. I am more concerned about the frauds taking advantage of people.
