I grew up in Calhoun county and our family was friends with Margerie's family when this horrific crime occurred. I have been looking for years to see if anyone was still following this unsolved crime partly because of our connection to the family and Port Lavaca. However I think there is some important information that has been left out. Here's how I remember it. One of my fathers friends was friends with Willard and he said he went to see him in the hospital before he died. I was a kid back then but I distinctly recall him telling my father that Willard's penis had been cut off and shoved in his mouth. That's not something you are likely to forget. Apparently many people thought this was a hit and that Willard has been messing around with another man's wife. I remember that someone said something about some strangers being in the bar that night making comments about "tripping pipe" which in oil fields vernacular was equal to cutting pipe. I don't know how accurate that post is, perhaps someone who knows oil fields could confirm that. However it was thought that the assailants had some connection to oil fields. Anyway it was believed that a Willard was the target of the murders. Also there was one more thing. Apparently one of the women survived the shooting and dragged herself to the pay phone out side the bar and called 911. Whoever received the 911 call ignored it because they thought it was a prank. The woman died there by the phone. Those are some of the important details that I remember hearing over 40 years ago. Not sure how accurate they were and it was all hearsay.

John Catchings mother was a psychic. They are both from Texas. I met John in person shortly after Kathies disappearance in Pt. Lavaca along with Wendys parents

I was Kathies husband at the time of her disappearance. I was involved in the early investigation. Wendy Priddy and Kathie Collins were both missing from Pt. Lavaca and both women have never been found. The Pt. Lavaca police bungled the whole investigation. A pyshic by the name of John Catchings became involved in the cases of the two missing women. He was a brilliant observer. There was a suspect tied to both womens disapperances. Catchings interviwed his employer. Which the police or Rangers did not. The suspect worked for a plumbing company and installed septic tanks. The pyshic concluded that both women had been sexually assulted , murdered and put in or near septic tanks. I do not believe the police followed his lead. They could have found the most recent septic tanks installed by his company and gone from there! i In addition to this from my recollection the suspect knew Wendy Priddys husband ! If you are a sexual predator , thats the best job you could have installing septic tanks and having access to excavating equipment. When you are ready for your next victim you already have a pre- determined burial site. The suspect may not have put their bodies in septic tanks but underneath or on the side.I believe the pyshic was correct in his predication and thats why their bodies have never been found
