That was a wonderful tribute to Max. My memory of Max was a young boy I met many years ago at Viscardi. He was friendly, eager to try anything, very conscientious and always wanting to have things right. Over the years I watched him grow from that young boy to a mature college graduate with a job. He still had all the same traits as when I first met him only now they were refined. We tried many times to get together in the city. We achieved it only once at Grand Central Station. We had a lovely meal together. He invited me onto the family boat but due to work schedule I was never able to make it. He always looked forward to the annual Sports Night Event. A few months before we would start communicating about it and he would give me his ideas. I know I will never meet another like Max. He was giving, sharing, intelligent with one of the biggest hearts. He made the most out of his 31 years. He will be missed. RIP my friend. I love you.

Alex, you're amazing! That was such a beautiful tribute to Max. Thank you! (By the way, you sound a lot like my friend, Olympic skating champion Scott Hamilton!) I loved Max too...he somehow touched my heart more than almost any other student at the amazing Henry Viscardi School, when I came to produce the shows for the spring fundraising gala. And I was privileged to work with at least 100 students over the years. I don't know what it was about him, maybe the mischievous glimmer in his eyes...so full of fun and life! He was truly a special guy. I also loved how he kept coming back year after year, even when he was no longer part of the school or the show. I remember the last time I saw him, he was dressed so cool, including his shades. 😎 Then he brought us out to see his very cool car which you referred to. He never wanted to say goodbye that night. 🥲 He wanted us to include an Alumni scene in the Viscardi show for fabulous kids like YOU and like him who had moved on from graduation to do impressive things and to be independent. I wish we could have had the chance to do that Viscardi Alumni scene...but Covid came along and changed everything. I loved your stories about Max and have such happy memories of him too. Thanks for sharing your heart so beautifully dear Alex. You're part of an incredible community and I'm humbled to have been part of it for a few weeks each year for about 20 years. On behalf of my creative team, Sammy Viverito, Stephen Schneider and everyone else, thank you. We all send our love and condolences to you, to Max's family and to his friends. God bless you ❤
