Peter Wood, President of the National Association of Scholars and author of 1620: A Critical Response to the 1619 Project, joins Dan to discuss the New York Times’ attempt to change the date of the founding of America from the signing of the Mayflower Compact in 1620 to a year earlier when a pirate ship landed a group of captive Africans at Jamestown. The new version of history which also pushes a narrative of racial oppression is already being taught in schools across the country. When do you think the American story began?
