No, Ken. Worked on a ship in Violet 3 weeks on and 3 weeks off for a year and a half though. I left the ship a week after Hurricane Ike rolled through. 9th Ward smelled like death again because they didn't have electricity for that week and all their food had spoiled

Doc P- That's something I need to do. Get a CCW permit. Of course I know a number of sheriffs deputies and the sheriff and don't really need it. Got to be legal tho.

Doc, drive through the 9th Ward today. Half the Friggin buildings still have those FEMA Search markings.

Doc P - I have to agree they should have bulldozed the 9th ward and some other areas. I did speak with some of my associates and it was law enforcement "open season" on drug dealers and looters! They did take care of business!!

Amen, Ken! We'd often arrange for former police officers to be our taxi drivers. They didn't mind us drinking on the way to the airport at 6AM either

Doc P - I made a number of trips to downtown in support of AT&T restoration projects. I always had my 45 with me!!!!! Trust no one!!

Ken,. One night my taxi was rear-ended at two consecutive stop signs. The cab driver told me if it happened again he'd be jumping out and firing shots, and said to jump in the driver's seat and take it wherever I needed to go....

Rocky - 9th ward not a very good area to be in. We sent alot of homeless folks to Houston, Tx. during Katrina, and they don't ever want any back. To many bad people causing them grief!!

It was fun. Most of the time I was working on a ship and couldn't leave. Had a few scary moments taking a cab through the 9th ward a few nights... Then there was that brain eating amobeoa that kills a 9 year old kid a few blocks away... Still loved it though!

Rocky - How do you love the area? People, food, etc. I always love to see the guy that dresses up as the Pope!!! I never miss a game during football season. I'm a diehard Saints fan!!
