If you watch Netflix, you know that the movie “The Irishman” debuted there on Wednesday, November 27, 2019, with much fanfare. The crime drama is expected to draw millions of viewers over this Thanksgiving break.

The man behind “The Irishman,” or more specifically, the man behind the book upon which the movie is based is Charles Brandt, identified as the film’s writer in the credits. The Hagmann Report interviewed Charles Brandt about his book, “I Heard You Paint Houses” and the movie that was about to begin production at the time of this 2017 interview.
