We had the good fortune of connecting with Christopher Hutcheson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Christopher, what do you want your legacy to be?
The most important thing to me for people to remember. Is my heart. I have always sit it on my sleeve. If someone is in need, I help. Really, lol I do it even if I’m struggling also. I just try to be a good person. Had a messed up past. Abuse, drugs, and don’t get me wrong I’m far from perfect now. But I see outside my box. And really nothing puts a smile on my face more than being able to reach my hand out to someone in need and help them up. Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My whole career is been a challenge. But I’ve overcome every obstacle well. I’m a white hip hop artist anybody that has been there, can tell you it’s not easy. I started when I was 13. My mama told me if I was going to do this that I was going to do it for real. Took me to my first studio. I was garbage. LOL. But I never gave up. I went to prison in 2012 and I spent eight years for a robbery case. That’s where I really became an artist. I wrote four or five songs a day everyday. I gave it everything I had and put my soul into every single line. Now for me music is my saving Grace because with that I wouldn’t be here and I know that for a fact. It’s where I vent. It’s like my diary. You can really take a listen to my music over all these years and see the growth also see the downfalls. But every downfall and backslide has done nothing but made me stronger. Not perfect far from it. But I believe anyone that has gone through hell in life and came out the other side of it is somebody that anybody can learn something from. Cuz if you ain’t been through it you can’t speak on it. My 32 years I’ve been there been through it all. To be all the way honest currently still going through it. But I’ve come into contact with some good people. People who actually want to see the best for me and not watch Me drown. You Know who You are. But I’ll never give up and have a damn sure will never put down a pen. Just watch. Everyone will know my name one day. But even if they don’t doesn’t matter cuz I’m doing what I love to do and I’ll do that to the death Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My fav spot around town has to be southern lanes. I love to just jam some music. Bowling. Lazer tag. Yeah I’m a big kid. Can’t help it. Fav place to eat. Mariah’s. Love the people. Good environment. To throw back some drinks. Downtown. Pick a spot. If it’s jumping we roll with it.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
All my supporters #SkiMaskGang who have pushed me through all the trials and tribulations I have been thru lately. Life has beaten me down lately. Not so long ago I was living in my car with my dog. Still making music. And I swear just when all I seen was darkness I would get another message from another supporter that told me ” Man I love your work” or ” This last track you put out really helped me through a hard time” They made me see that what I was doing was a positive thing. Yeah I got my harder tracks. But i got alot of heart felt music. That always gets the most play from my people. I don’t have fans. If they support me they family. Family is not always blood. It’s who has your back. So trust me I got there’s to. Love y’all man. #SkiMaskGang 4 life!!!
