my dad is still alive ..... he worked at Cape Canavaral for 25 years following WW2.... He had never told me what he did there .. He always gives a pat answer ... I worked on weather balloons lol

check the national forest laws...you can search but anything over 25$ has to be reported and if it is archalogical importance it must be left along in site and reported to authorities
