Story Transcript:

It: La pioggia si abbatteva con forza sulla Piazza del Popolo.
En: The rain was pouring down on the Piazza del Popolo.

It: Alessandro cercò di correre sotto un porticato, ma era già completamente fradicio.
En: Alessandro tried to run under a portico, but he was already completely soaked.

It: Maledì il suo ombrello rotto, che aveva portato con sé, lo aveva lasciato in balia della tempesta.
En: He cursed his broken umbrella, which he had brought with him, had left him at the mercy of the storm.

It: Mentre cercava di ripararsi, vide Sofia che si avvicinava alla piazza.
En: While trying to take cover, he saw Sofia approaching the square.

It: Mentre parlavano, Giovanni si avvicinò in corsa.
En: While they were talking, John came running up.

It: "Ciao Alessandro e Sofia, ho visto l'ombrello di Sofia e ho pensato di chiederti se posso unirmi a voi", disse, già completamente fradicio.
En: "Hi Alessandro and Sofia, I saw Sofia's umbrella and thought I'd ask you if I can join you," he said, already completely soaked.

It: Sofia disse:"Certo, ma dovevi correre per arrivarci in tempo, Giovanni!
En: Sofia said: "Sure, but you had to run to get there in time, Giovanni!"

It: "gridando per farsi sentire sopra il rumore della pioggia.

It: Ad un certo punto, Alessandro si girò per dire qualcosa e urtò il braccio di Sofia, facendole cadere l'ombrello.
En: At one point, Alessandro turned to say something and bumped Sofia's arm, causing her umbrella to fall.

It: "Guarda cosa hai fatto!"
En: "Look what you've done!"

It: disse lei, ridendo.
En: she said, laughing.

It: "Ora siamo entrambi senza protezione!".
En: "Now we are both without protection!".

It: Ma proprio in quel momento, il loro ombrello volò via.
En: But just then, their umbrella flew away.

It: Si voltarono e lo videro che volava via, irraggiungibile.
En: They turned and saw him flying away, unreachable.

It: Giovanni disse: "Allora, posso l'occasione per offrire la mia giacca.
En: John said, "So, may I take the opportunity to offer my jacket.

It: "Beh, devo andare," disse Sofia, "ma è stato bello condividere questo ombrello con voi anche se ha causato la nostra bagnatura!".
En: "Well, I have to go," said Sofia, "but it was nice to share this umbrella with you even if it caused us to get wet!".

It: Avevano la compagnia l'un l'altro e questa è la dimostrazione che nella vita molte volte non serve guardare solo il lato negativo delle cose, bensì riconoscere ciò che realmente conta, il sorriso e la sintonia della gente che ci circonda.
En: They had each other's company and this is proof that in life many times it is not necessary to look only at the negative side of things, but to recognize what really matters, the smile and harmony of the people around us.
