Story Transcript:

Ko: 별빛이 유난히도 반짝이는 그날 밤, 방화동 골목길에 있는 오래된 벽돌담 앞에, 지혜는 끊임 없이 고개를 숙였다. 이유 없이 숙이는 것은 아니었지, 그벽돌담을 지나는 자주색 벌레를 보았기 때문이다. 지혜는 이를 우주의 징조라 생각하였고, 남들이보기엔 그저 벽돌담이었지만 그녀에게는 절을 하게 만든 신성한 곳이 되었다.
En: On that night when the starlight was particularly sparkling, Wisdom continuously bowed her head in front of an old brick wall on a narrow alley in Banghwa-dong. It wasn't without reason that she kept bowing; it was because she saw a purple insect passing through that brick wall. Wisdom considered it a sign from the universe, and although it may have appeared to others as just a brick wall, to her, it became a sacred place that made her bow in reverence.

Ko: 바로 그때, 홀가분한 모두 밝은 미소를 지닌 민준이 걸어왔다. 거리의 다른 쪽 끝에서 불빛을 받아 반짝이는 민준의 금발이 흔들리며 곳곳으로 빛을 뿜었다. 그 모습은 마치 촛불이 불어날 풍선처럼 환하게 빛났다. 그의 눈은 항상 내키지 않았고 담배 연기보다 더 알 수 없었다.
En: Just then, Minjun with a bright and serene smile approached. His golden hair, illuminated by the light from the other end of the street, shimmered and emitted light in all directions. His appearance shone brightly like a balloon that would release light like a candle. His eyes were always elusive, more mysterious than cigarette smoke.

Ko: 지혜는 순간 멈췄다. 그녀의 눈앞에 벽돌담이 아닌 민준이 서 있었기 때문이다. 잠시 후, 그녀는 우연히 벽돌담에 고개를 숙이고 그것을 민준이라고 착각하여 절을 했다는 사실을 알아차렸다. 어이가 없는 그녀의 모습에 민준은 미소를 지었다.
En: Wisdom paused for a moment. In front of her eyes stood Minjun, not the brick wall. After a brief moment, she realized that she had mistakenly bowed to the brick wall, mistaking it for Minjun. Bewildered by her own actions, Minjun smiled.

Ko: "저 벌레 맞아? 이미 사라져버렸는데..." 민준은 물었다. 그의 목소리는 약간 까칠했지만 동시에 따뜻했다.
En: "Did you see that bug? It's already disappeared..." Minjun asked. His voice was slightly raspy, yet warm.

Ko: 지혜는 그를 보며 미소지으며 대답했다. "아니, 우연히 그대를 보았을 뿐이에요. 우주가 우리를 이끌어주었나봐요."
En: Smiling at him, Wisdom replied, "No, I just happened to see you. It seems the universe led us to each other."

Ko: 그리하여 서울의 어느 외진 골목길에서, 우연하게 만난 두 인간은 소소한 대화와 함께 밤을 지새웠다. 그 밤, 지혜는 민준을 만나는 행운을 벽돌담에 절을 하며 감사하는 마음으로 바꿔버렸다. 그리고 그들은 더 이상 그냥 지나가는 사람들이 아니었다. 이제 그들은 소중한 추억을 가진 서로의 사람이 되었다. 서울의 포근한 밤하늘 아래 그들은 그 자리에서 행복한 만남의 결승점을 찍었다.
En: Thus, in a secluded alley in Seoul, two individuals who happened to meet by chance stayed up all night with light conversation. That night, Wisdom replaced her gratitude toward the brick wall with gratitude for meeting Minjun. No longer were they just passersby. Now, they had become each other's cherished memories. Under the warm night sky of Seoul, they marked the happy culmination of their encounter.
