Joe Donnelly (D-IN). Heidi Heitkamp (D-ND). Claire McCaskill (D-MO). Bill Nelson (D-FL). What do those 'fabulous' four Democratic United States Senators all have in common? They all lost their seats in the 2018 mid-term election, flipping them from blue to red. This, despite the fact that there was a 'blue wave' in the House that saw 41 seats flip from Republican to Democrat. This also, despite the fact that two Senate seats (Arizona, Nevada) flipped from red to blue. So why did the GOP actually GAIN two seats in a mid-term election, when most U.S. Presidents lose massive amounts from each house of Congress? You need look no further than the Democrats' treatment of Brett Kavanaugh during the controversial confirmation hearings in September of 2018. And Chuck Schumer need look no further for the reason why Democrats have absolutely no shot of blocking the nomination of Amy Coney Barrett for Supreme Court now.
