Earlier this week, I spoke with a supporter about the ongoing challenges at a not-for-profit in Lunenburg called Second Story Women's Centre. The staff have walked out and the support group has closed it's doors, temporarily. Ahead of a vigil in Lunenburg this evening, I received a letter from the Chair of the Board.

Hello Mr. McLeod. I am looking for information about the problems at the Second Story Women's Center that have caused friends of mine to leave after many years of service. I no longer live in the area, but maintain my interest. Unfortunately your report tells me nothing. I find it quite biased, despite your hopeful introduction alluding to the reality of various perspectives. I was hoping to hear all the points of view you alluded to concerning issues between the staff, executive and the board. Despite "speaking at length this week with an advocate" you give none of the information you may have gained. Is there a reason you only share a letter from the Board which appears to demonstrate that they are not going forward with any negotiations with staff or executive? The fact that you say that you are a friend of the Chair of the Board deeply brings into question the motivation behind your report. There is so much missing that I fear your contribution only serves to obfuscate the matter at hand. Could you perhaps share more of the issues as you claim to know them? Thank you.
