We have all seen the movie, Black Hawk Down! We have all imagined what it felt like to be on the ground with those heroes in that battle and to honor and believe in not leaving a soldier behind. My guest this week was, in fact, one of these very soldiers as he was deployed with the Army Rangers to Somalia during this terrible time. I was honored to have Steve Sr. sit in with me on this one until work called and he had to leave. I can tell you that when we sat down, David and I had a target time of inside of 75 minutes. That target was no where close to the time that this story deserves. I was honored to have him share his experiences with me first hand. I hope that you will feel the way I did after you listen to this episode and put yourself in the shoes of these brave soldiers as these events unfolded. The movie (Black Hawk Down) does a lot of fair justice to the events that took place but October 3rd and 4th of 1993 was a time that these survivors will never forget and we should not let the ones that gave the ultimate sacrifice be forgotten.
