This month, we’re joined by Anthony Love, Principal Advisor to the Executive Director for Intra/Inter-Agency Collaboration and Director of Community Engagement; Dr. Carmela Daniels, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Program Specialist; and Dr. Matthew Stimmel, National Training Director for the Veteran Justice Programs to learn more about racial equity in homeless programs.

Our guests talked about what equity is, what some of the unique challenges that minority Veterans face, and why it’s both critical (and okay) to center equity when providing housing and supportive services.

Veterans who are homeless or at imminent risk of homelessness are strongly encouraged to contact the National Call Center for Homeless Veterans at (877) 4AID-VET (877-424-3838) for assistance.

Absolutely everything I have to my name is now soaked completely. Like all other nare-do-well orginizations, it seems the number of homeless folks some adds to the said groups bottom line. (in other words we homeless make the pseudo helpers lots of money) From the garbage of rapid rehousing to the 9 years of waiting for hud-vash, it is all a joke. Thanks for trying to make us have some sort of hope. I have to figure out how to get dry and warm.
