On this week's episode we welcome Melissa King to the show. In August, Melissa was appointed the CEO of the Local Organizing Committee for the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup, which will be held in Sydney in 2022. Before taking up this role, she was the first female CEO of Surf Life Saving Australia (SLSA). Prior to that Melissa worked on the corporate side of the Sydney Opera House and for the APEC 2001 task force. She is also an Independent Director on the United Nations Association of Australia. Melissa talks to Ella and Georgina about her work to increase female leadership roles at SLSA, her involvement with the UN on sustainability, and of course, her mission to bring some 'funk' to the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup in 2022.
Duration: 25 mins
Hosts: Ella Smith & Georgina Mallon.
A co-production with Women Sport Australia
