My guest today is Michelle Yandle, an inspiring Health and Nutrition Educator and Coach
whose passion is teaching people how to feel amazing, (without all the nutrition confusion
and bs) and without having to give up the foods they love. One of her mantras is “FEEL
GREAT and EAT CAKE” and she helps break the chains of constant dieting, cravings, binging
and feeling out of control around food that cause women in particular to feel guilt and
shame.
Says Michelle: “Like many women, since I was put on my first diet at age 12 I have struggled
with food. I’ve followed every trend, every diet, every drink and every microwave meal in
order to be my ‘healthiest self’. Many of the people I work with today are plagued with the
same vicious cycle. It wasn’t until I began to do some research into my Mi’kmaq (Native
American) ancestry and began to incorporate the teachings of The Medicine Wheel into my
practice that I was able to help not only those I worked with but myself as well.
It was then, Empowered Eating was born. Since then, I've written books, spoken
internationally (incl. TEDx), written for Nadia Magazine and Healthy Food Guide amongst
others and appeared on Radio and Television sharing the message of Empowered Eating and
Gentle Nutrition.”
