Ed is joined by Rob McKenzie, who has been researching into the scandal surrounding the CIA and the Ford Motor Company in Mexico.
Throughout the 1980s to today, on an increasing amount, American factories and jobs were being outsourced to other countries, the most widely publicised was the move by Ford Motor Company to Mexico. This desire to maximise profits and lower wage costs was tunnel visioned, and never more so than the morning of January 8 1990 when a group of drunken thugs and criminals launched an attack on the factory which culminated in the shooting of nine employees.
Rob McKenzie worked at another location for the Ford Corporation, and was disbelieving of the story when it first broke. But his curiosity got the better of him and what started as an attempt to back up a apocryphal rumour to a investigation spanning years, and his destination was not one he was expecting.
This is a tale of twists and turns, of lies and falsehoods, of misdirection and malfeasance. Ultimately it is one of corruption, power and greed.
