WWVA via FOX News Radio recently asked Stephen Patterson to come on the air 🎙 in Wheeling, WV to discuss the recent increase in egg prices due to a chicken flu outbreak. Stephen, Director of Client Relations for KeyCity Capital, noted that eggs are a staple product and are used in many different recipes, leading to a 60-70% increase in food prices across the board. Stephen also noted that this issue will not be resolved quickly, with prices normalizing in 12-18 months.

When discussing the cost of eggs, Stephen pointed out that the average American consumes roughly 275 eggs per year, costing roughly $65-67. He noted that while this is a significant increase, it is not as bad when looked at in terms of the overall grocery list.

Stephen concluded by reminding people that “this too shall pass” and that prices will eventually normalize.
