Three cities in chaos over race-mixing.
This episode explains the causes, events and aftermath of three riots in response to a mixed race issue. The Knoxville Riots began over an accused biracial man for murder. The Danville Riots began over an integrated political Readjuster Party. New York’s Mixed Race Riot was a combination of resistance to the draft, and mixed race communities that had both Irish and Blacks, living, working, and loving, side by side.
