On today’s Bible Answer Man broadcast (10/25/21), Hank addresses a question that is often asked by skeptics: how can Christians legitimize a God who orders the genocide of entire nations? God’s commands are always perfectly consistent with His justice and mercy. His command to destroy the nations in the land of Canaan shouldn’t be interpreted apart from its immediate context. The words “destroy them totally” are contextualized by Deuteronomy 7:2-4, which makes clear that the Canaanites would turn the sons of Israel away from following the Lord, to serve other gods. Further, God’s desire to spare the pagan city of Nineveh bears eloquent testimony to His mercy for those who repent.

Hank also answers the following questions:

Could you clarify the story of Jephthah sacrificing his daughter? This seems ridiculous to me.
How can I argue that the Bible and the Qur’an do not teach the same God?
Can you address the Hebrew Roots Movement and their view that we must observe Old Testament laws?
Is it true that if a divorced person remarries, they are committing perpetual adultery?
Why don’t many mainline Protestant churches teach extensively on the book of Revelation?
