Colin Jack Mitchell is unlikely ever to leave prison again, after being sentenced to preventive detention over two vicious attacks on women.
Mitchell abducted a woman after last year's Pride Parade and assaulted her at a west Auckland quarry.
He was also convicted of a 1992 rape and has been jailed previously for rape.
Herald senior crime reporter, Anna Leask, says there wasn't a flicker of reaction, throughout his time in court.
"He was expressionless and he was either looking at the floor or sort of just looking straight ahead and there was just no emotion whatsoeverColin Jack Mitchell is unlikely ever to leave prison again, after being sentenced to preventive detention over two vicious attacks on women.
Leask says he won't get out of jail until the Parole Board is satisfied he poses no further risk to the community.
"So he won't be getting out until he has acknowledged the offending, taken responsibility and had, I would say, a huge amount of rehabilitation."
