My whole life I have had a fear of messing something up. Speaking out and being judged. Feeling like I have to be perfect all the time.
Not rocking the boat, never dying my hair or speaking up about things that will hurt others. Not being too political but this is not about politics as one of my beautiful clients Bria Jones has shared. Racial injustice is about human rights.
And leadership is NEVER ABOUT PERFECTION. That is why leaders are loved and hated, agreed with and disagreed with. As coaches and healers in this group, I just want to give you permission to take a stand for what you truly believe.
You wanted to be a leader….here we are.
You wanted awakening… here we go.
This is an anti-racist group and anti-perfectionism space to share.
My mom has always taught me to never judge someone based on the color of their skin. Thank GOD.
I have had black friends my whole life. I grew up in a private jewish day school with black jewish friends.
I have had black women as 1:1 clients, my friend Bola, a black woman on my team. I have had black women in my programs. Black women on my podcast.
But I am uneducated on so much. Including white privledge. And here is the thing… just bc I am unaware doesn’t make me wrong.
We just now have the opportunity to DO BETTER, LEARN BETTER AND BE BETTER. TOGETHER.
Being an Ally means taking action, responsibility and accountability.
Speaking up, reaching out, donating, sharing and having hard conversations.
My intention behind sharing this is to empower you to take responsibility. To have hard conversations. And to forgive yourself.
To hold my family accountable to the the way we want to raise our children and what we want to teach them.
Having deeper conversations with my husband on the way we want to practice anti- racism.
We are all in this group for awakening and this is the next wave, to erradicate Racism and stand together as one body. One humanity.
I want to hold my community accountbale on deeper levels.
What do I mean? Even though my mom taught me well. I have still made racial slurs in jest, sang songs with the N word, heard people say things and even though I have said “STOP” to people in my family for saying racist things.
Saying STOP is not enough. I will not stand for it.
Even if it is uncomfortable, even if it causes an argument, I am committed to standing up for what I believe in.
I am truly sorry for not doing and knowing better.
We can’t awaken and have a peaceful world when there is so much pent up anger, hate and injustice.
Of course all lives matter, but BLACK LIVES MATTER is what we are talking about here.
I want to use this group as an opportunity to give you thee stage to share how you are taking action and to exercise your leadership.
If you are a black woman and you want to speak up, we are listening. Hit live.
If you are a white woman and you want to speak up, we are listening.
Be open, be curious.
If you need resources, we got you!
