“I had finally slipped into a deep sleep when I suddenly heard the door open. A man stood in the darkened doorway, the hall light behind him shining just enough to see his contoured face. ‘I didn’t mean to’ he sobbed. ‘You have to help me.’ Too confused and distorted to be scared, I sat up, rubbed my eyes, and reached for the lamp switch. But once the room was lit, I saw that the door was closed, then there was no man.”
