Last season Ryder scored 20 goals and 35 assists for a total of 55 points in only 61 games played for the Raiders. A feat that won him the honor of being named the WHL's Rookie of the Year for last season. Then it was playing for Team Canada in the Hlinka Gretzky Cup this summer Ritchie scored 3 goals and 6 assists for 9 points in only 5 games played, which helped them to win the Gold Medal.
