The fact that the 1970s was the hey-day for this theme is because of the more prevalent way people heard music.

The first case of the variant was from a case in January last year in Santa Clara.

The variant was first detected back at the beginning of the pandemic and identified by a lab in Denmark. So it's been out there since the beginning, but it was rare. Now, not so rare.
