My apologies for two two month hiatus due to illness. This episode will summarize the early history of treatment of the chronically mentally ill in more overview fashion. Then I will start the future direction of this podcast transitioning into the early starts of reform of mental health service delivery, failed efforts of the Kennedy-Johnson era, the second failure to handle the consequences of deinstitutionalization in the last forty years. Finally, I will start the lay the foundational history for focusing in the future on the last 20 more years' faltering and then growing modern efforts to face the realities of modern effective comprehensive mental health reform that is facing the entire country at present.
