From a recent "Usool at-Tafseer" class (#6), Moosaa Richardson explains the baseless method of choosing names for children by selecting a random word in the Quran. It is thought that this is some kind of respect for the Quran, however, it resembles the deviant Mu'tazilah Cult's way of thinking, that names do not have relevance to their linguistic meanings.
