When I was involved in reenactment even though it was basically dressing up in period clothing for the weekend, there would be occasions when you did lose your perspective on modern life and have what we would call a period experience. Difficult to explain but there was certainly something.

The date of Easter is dictated by a lunar cycle and it is not a set date as it can move as much as a month. So it does sound more of a coincidence that he tuned in to these experiences independently of a fixed religious calendar.
