In honor of this Thanksgiving holiday, I felt a review of the colony where it all started, Plymouth Plantation, was in order.After John Winthrop served as governor for one year, William Bradford served as governor for the next thirty. Under him the Mayflower compact was created and a treaty and allegiance was formed between the settlers and nearby Indian tribes. The peace they established led to prosperity on both sides. This book is a fantastic read explaining why I gave it 5 stars. And in light of modern day education, it's incredibly enlightening.
