Salmos 22:7-22 RVA2015:
Todos los que me ven se burlan de mí. Estiran los labios y mueven la cabeza diciendo: “En el SEÑOR confió; que él lo rescate. Que lo libre, ya que de él se agradó”.
Pero tú eres el que me sacó del vientre; me has hecho estar confiado desde que estaba a los pechos de mi madre. Sobre ti fui echado desde la matriz; desde el vientre de mi madre tú eres mi Dios. No te alejes de mí, porque la angustia está cerca y no hay quien ayude. Muchos toros me han rodeado; fuertes toros de Basán me han cercado. Contra mí abrieron su boca, como león voraz y rugiente. Soy derramado como el agua; todos mis huesos se han desarticulado. Mi corazón está como cera y se ha derretido en medio de mis entrañas. Mi vigor se ha secado como un tiesto, y mi lengua se ha pegado a mi paladar. Me has puesto en el polvo de la muerte. Los perros me han rodeado; me ha cercado una pandilla de malhechores, y horadaron mis manos y mis pies. Puedo contar todos mis huesos; ellos me miran y me observan. Reparten entre sí mis vestidos, y sobre mi ropa echan suertes.
Pero tú, oh SEÑOR, no te alejes. Fortaleza mía, apresúrate para ayudarme. Libra mi alma de la espada; libra mi única vida de las garras de los perros. Sálvame de la boca del león y de los cuernos de los toros salvajes. ¡Me has respondido! Anunciaré tu nombre a mis hermanos; en medio de la congregación te alabaré.

Por cuestión de tiempo y espacio comencé a leer desde el verso 7 hasta el 22, tratando de abarcar varios versos de nuestro interés para el desarrollo de la reflexión del día de hoy. Si tomas el tiempo para leer todo el capítulo vas a ver claramente todo el contexto de este salmo y notarás que los versos se refieren a la vida de alguien que está sufriendo, pero que específicamente veras la similitud con la experiencia de Jesucristo y su sufrimiento en la cruz del calvario.

Este es uno de los denominados salmos mesiánicos por las referencias precisas de los eventos de la cruz cuando Jesús fue torturado por los soldados romanos y los líderes religiosos de Israel.
En el verso 11 expresa el sentirse solo; los discípulos dejaron solo a Jesús.
En el verso 12 asemeja a los acusadores como toros, fuertes y haciendo daño con sus cuernos; en este caso son las palabras acusadoras que convencen a los romanos de crucificar a Jesús.
Por eso él sentía que se derretía y se derramaba como la cera o el agua. Humillado, pisoteado e indefenso; Jesús fue humillado y menospreciado.
En el verso 15 manifiesta estar sediento. Asimismo, Jesús sintió mucha sed cuando fue crucificado. Los perros que lo rodeaban eran los soldados que lo injuriaban, se burlaban y hasta sortearon sus ropas como lo menciona el verso 18.
Los siguientes versos rompen este clamor de dolor con una victoria. En el verso 22 Dios respondió la oración del que estaba padeciendo y dijo que anunciará el nombre de Dios a sus hermanos, dando a entender que ¡Jesús resucitó entre los muertos y anunció la victoria sobre el pecado, la muerte y el diablo!
Espero que estos versos te confirmen que tu fe está puesta en el verdadero Mesías, el Salvador del mundo, de quien el rey David tuvo la revelación de los padecimientos del Señor para darnos vida y liberación a nosotros.
No permitas que nada ni nadie te separe del amor de Dios. Él pagó el precio máximo para que tu y yo ya no nos sintamos solos, abandonados, menospreciados; y si esto lo vives, recuerda que hay alguien que sabe por lo que estás pasando. Alguien que te entiende, comprende y está dispuesto a librarte para que testifiques cómo el Señor te guardó, te restauró, te dio vida nueva y así proclames a tus hermanos, parientes y amigos ¡cuán grande ha sido el Señor contigo, que ha convertido tus padecimientos en cánticos de victoria!

October 7: Suffering of the Messiah.

Psalms 22:7-22:
All those who see Me ridicule Me; they shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying, “He trusted in the Lord, let Him rescue Him; let Him deliver Him, since He delights in Him!”
But You are He who took Me out of the womb; You made Me trust while on My mother’s breasts. I was cast upon You from birth. From My mother’s womb You have been My God. Be not far from Me, for trouble is near; for there is none to help. Many bulls have surrounded Me; strong bulls of Bashan have encircled Me. They gape at Me with their mouths, Like a raging and roaring lion. I am poured out like water, and all My bones are out of joint; my heart is like wax; it has melted within Me. My strength is dried up like a potsherd, and My tongue clings to My jaws; You have brought Me to the dust of death. For dogs have surrounded Me; the congregation of the wicked has enclosed Me. They pierced My hands and My feet; I can count all My bones. They look and stare at Me. They divide My garments among them, and for My clothing they cast lots.
But You, O Lord, do not be far from Me; O My Strength, hasten to help Me! Deliver Me from the sword, My precious life from the power of the dog. Save Me from the lion’s mouth and from the horns of the wild oxen!
You have answered Me. I will declare Your name to My brethren; in the midst of the assembly I will praise You.


For a matter of time and space I began to read from verses 7 to 22, trying to cover several verses of our interest for the development of today's reflection. If you take the time to read the entire chapter you will clearly see the whole context of this psalm and you will notice that the verses refer to the life of someone who is suffering, but that specifically you will see the similarity with the experience of Jesus Christ and His suffering in the cross of calvary.

This is one of the so-called messianic psalms because of the precise references to the events of the cross when Jesus was tortured by the Roman soldiers and the religious leaders of Israel.
In verse 11 he expresses feeling alone; the disciples left Jesus alone.
In verse 12 he likens the accusers as bulls, strong and hurting with their horns; in this case it is the accusing words that convince the Romans to crucify Jesus.
That is why he felt that he was melting and spilling like wax or water. Humiliated, trampled and defenseless; Jesus was humiliated and despised.
In verse 15 he states that he is thirsty. Likewise, Jesus was very thirsty when He was crucified. The dogs that surrounded Him were the soldiers who insulted Him, mocked Him and even drew His clothes as mentioned in verse 18.
The following verses break this cry of pain with a victory. In verse 22 God answered the prayer of the one who was suffering and said that he will announce the name of God to his brothers, giving to understand that Jesus rose from the dead and announced victory over sin, death and the devil!
I hope these verses confirm that your faith is in the true Messiah, the Savior of the world, from whom King David had the revelation of the Lord's sufferings to give us life and liberation.
Don't allow anything or anyone to separate you from the love of God. He paid the maximum price so that you and I no longer feel alone, abandoned, belittled; and if this you are living, remember that there is Someone who knows what you are going through. Someone who understands you and is willing to free and save you so that you testify how the Lord saved you, restored you, gave you new life and thus proclaim to your brothers, sisters, relatives and friends how great the Lord has been with you, who has converted your sufferings into songs of victory!
