As the possibility of legalized marijuana in New York increases -- while the opioid crisis rages continues -- the New York Police Department is taking measures to detect drugged drivers. Within the NYPD is a small unit of Drug Recognition Experts (DRE) who are tasked with educating police officers across the Empire State on how to spot drivers operating vehicles while under the influence. Two DREs discussed the tactics used, and how they're changing police practices.
