Salvation in the Church Age has nothing to do with saying the "sinners prayer" and everything to do with becoming convicted of your status as a sinner before a holy and righteous God. Without the conviction of your lost and sinful condition, made clear to you through scripture, salvation cannot take place. Salvation is not a feeling or an emotion, it is a transaction of giving Jesus Christ your sins in exchange for His righteousness. Before you be saved, you have to know you're lost.
