Namibia has lifted a ban on the importation and in-transit movement of live birds and poultry products from Ireland.
This is after the European country was declared free from highly pathogenic avian influenza. The southern African country imposed an import ban on several European nations in November last year following an outbreak of the avian flu.
Nambia's chief veterinary officer Dr Albertina Shilongo. Dr Shilongo says all previously issued import and transit permits are hereby cancelled and recalled with immediate effect.
