You’re So F’ing Enlightened is supposed to be a “not-so-serious” approach to all things spiritual. Today, I break away from that expectation and get pretty serious.

Talking about our trauma is so hard because there is shame involved. Shame for both ourselves and those involved. Without sharing our trauma, though- we think we are alone and we can be too ashamed to reach out for help.
In this episode, I share about my personal trauma and healing journey. My goal is to help at least one person to feel like they’re not alone and know that there is a path to healing. I don’t go detailed events, but please know that there is talk of physical abuse and addiction in this episode. If this easily triggers you, please do not listen.

If you need help, here are some of my personal book recommendations:

The Myth of Normal: Trauma, Illness, and Healing in a Toxic Culture by Gabor Maté MD, Daniel Maté, et al.

The Body Keeps the Score: Brain, Mind, and Body in the Healing of Trauma by Bessel van der Kolk M.D.

Happy Days: The Guided Path from Trauma to Profound Freedom and Inner Peace by Gabrielle Bernstein (Author), Richard C. Schwartz ph.D (Foreword)
