Legendary sound engineer, mixer and producer Mike Fraser talks to host Dan Hare about his work on iconic rock albums for AC/DC, Aerosmith, Van Halen, Metallica and many others. Mike also shares: how he started as a janitor in Little Mountain Sound; being part of a team with Bob Rock and Bruce Fairbairn; the process of making records; why a sound engineer needs a calming personality; why, in the ‘80s, rock bands descended on Vancouver to make their records; how music production has changed; the valuable lesson he taught his kids and so much more. I really enjoyed your interview here with Mike. He's engineered so many great sounding recordings over the past 4 decades and his perspectives shared here are gems! I'd just like to note that 'in the earlier years' (1973 - 1980) .....{pre Loverboy} Little Mountain Sound was not just a jingle house and many fine artists recorded some really great music/albums there during those times as well.....such as: Susan Jacks, Olivia Newton John, Paul Horn, Nick Gilder, Minglewood Band, Leonard & Lowe, Pacific Salt, BIM, Valdy, The Hometown Band, Sweeney Todd, Payolas, Trooper, BTO, Hans Staymer, Straight Lines, Ryche Chlanda, Layton Howerton, Terry Jacks, Bobby Curtola, Goose Creek Symphony, Bighorn, Joani Taylor, Witches Brew, Smokin' Pocket, Zingo, Eugene Smith, Nancy Nash, Fraser Macpherson etc. Those too were great years. Then Loverboy's album exploded..... and the world came!! We were ready!! ✨✨✨✨✨
