This podcast series is related to the exhibition Sarah Sze Metronome, which is on display at ARoS Aarhus Art Museum from 18.05.23-20.10.24.

Sound is inherently associated with time. Our very first impressions are of sounds, and time is a
constant presence in our lives: we have to stay on time, move in step with others, meet our
deadlines. In this episode, curator, writer and educator Barbara Casavecchia talks about how time
and sound are connected in Sarah Sze’s Metronome. The title itself, of course, refers to a
metronome, and the sound of its ticking is part of the work – but what effect do these repetitive
beats have on us?

This episode is in English.

Metronome is an immersive, site-specific installation. The work by renowned American artist Sarah Sze is an interpretation of our fragile, digitalised world.
