Check out the Canadian Masters Weightlifting Website for the rules (under Regulations) and Para Weightlifting Records (under Awards.)

Press outs will be permitted in some Para Weightlifting Categories. We will have 10 PW Categories. Referees would be advised in advance.

In Canada, coaches are trained and certificed by Coaches Association of Canada. Unfortunately there is not a specific section of the syllabus for training para/adaptive weightlifters. Coaches, as we know, can be very resourceful and will no doubt find exemplary ways of training athletes with physical challenges.

I agree! I think showing how many people would benefit from these adaptive categories can help spread awareness and an understanding!

IWF Olympic Weightlifting has, up to this time, only made accommodations for athletes with a prosthetic or blind athletes. Para Weightlifting is not contested at any level anywhere in the world.

So why do we have so many adaptive categories in track and field but why not in many other sports? We have tens of dozens of adaptive categories in Track but almost zero others

Para Weightlifting is not Para Powerlifting. Para Weightlifting is not an official para sport.
