On the 10th of April 2014 the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) placed him on the list of its ten most wanted fugitives.
on the 27th of June 2018, Bishop, who at the time was 81 years old, was removed from the list, making room, the FBI said, for a "dangerous fugitive". However, he is still being actively pursued by the FBI,
