"The firm I worked for asked if I was interested in working for the Hong Kong office... I was doing construction law and because of the number of construction disputes arising on it and the later infrastructure projects they just needed more lawyers out in HK... I visited Hong Kong for a few days in 1990 on the way to Australia and liked it and wanted to spend some more time here and I also had friends here, so when the opportunity arose I jumped at it." 25 years later, Mark Bedford, dispute resolution Partner at Bowers Law, is still happily residing in HK.
